Corrinn Chavez Animated Arts Thesis Fall 2019
Hurly Burly is a production portfolio with a focus on mushroom ecology and its relation to wildfires. Featuring a collection of needle felted stop-motion puppets that are based off of the Lower plants found in botany. It follows our new friends Mnoi, Dama and Bracken and their quest to save the forest from the dreaded Honey mushroom before it takes over their home, destroying it in the process. The production portfolio includes character sheets, development sheets, and carefully posed photographed scenes featuring the puppets. Plus the physical puppets themselves.
This thesis project is intended to fill out my portfolio and show the skills I’ve learned at PNCA, while also expressing my love for mushrooms and the unseen battles they face.
