Babel is the display of the proposal to re-catalog books on the Multnomah County Library. An exploration of how Western academies represented a negation of the postmodernist dream of mutual respect. The Project is a symbolic restitution action that aims to eliminate regional ethnic divisions to create a metaphor for the biblical story of Babel, in which humanity can dream for a moment in which all our knowledge and voices can be united to create better societies… as the story of Babel is a dream condemned to fail by an authoritarian god.
