Maria Celeste is a series of accordion books showcasing narratives of my mom Celeste and Grandmother Maria as a way to address and critique machismo culture. The conversation about machismo starts with my own family and with these books I hope that others can relate and begin to have the conversation of how machismo affects Mexican, Mexican-American, Latinx women.
