Collywobbles

Collywobbles is a short, four minute animated film which explores our relationship with fear through abstract imagery and character based animation. It follows a female college student as she dozes off after contemplating dropping out of college. She then awakes in her own subconscious where her fear manifests as a blob like creature. The film is heavily influenced by the emotional headspace I was in when I dropped out of the University of Oregon. The subconscious was built through automatic paintings overlaid in AfterEffects and all character animation was done in TVPaint. The film is heavily inspired by the TED Talk “What fear can teach us” by Karen Thompson Walker.
